RENAISSANCE SINGERS

Margaret Prezbindowski, Soprano I
Margaret Prezbindowski recently graduated from Seattle University with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Humanities. Margaret is the soprano section leader at Saint Alphonsus parish in Ballard and currently performs with the Seattle University Concert singers, the University of Washington recital choir and the Renaissance Singers. She plans to continue singing early music and pursuing graduate studies in Medieval architectural history. She attended the Tallis Scholars Summer school in 2005 under the direction of Peter Phillips.

Teresa Clark, Soprano II
Teresa Clark began performing with the Renaissance Singers in 2004. She received ten years of classical training and served four years on the staff of the Northwest Boychoir. In 2005, she appeared in the opera Venus and Adonis presented by Early Music Guild of Seattle. She attended the Tallis Scholars International Summer School for the second time this year in England. Teresa received a B.A. in linguistics from the University of Washington in 2006. She works full-time as a healthcare activist with Washington Community Action Network.

Sarra Sharif, Soprano II
Sarra Sharif is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education at the University of Washington School of Music, where she studies voice under Juliana Rambaldi. Sarra's choral training began at age eight with the Seattle Girls' Choir, which included performances with the Seattle Choral Company and Seattle Symphony. Sarra has assisted choir and orchestra teachers throughout her community, including Lake Forest Park Elementary School and Meridian Park School. When Sarra is not singing with the Renaissance Singers, she performs with the UW Chamber Singers and has recorded with the Tudor Choir.

Joshua Haberman, Alto
Joshua is a lifelong lover of Renaissance polyphony, having first been exposed to it as a member of the American Boychoir in Princeton, New Jersey. During his three years with the Boychoir he spent 10 months touring across the United States and Europe, appearing in over 200 concerts with artists such as Chanticleer, New York Philharmonic, and Boston Symphony Orchestra. He recorded on three American Boychoir CDs and made guest recording appearances with Kathleen Battle and Jessye Norman. Joshua graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Music. He currently sings with the Cathedral Choir and Compline Choir at St. Mark's, and has appeared with the Tudor Choir. He is employed at a startup in the computer software industry.

Markdavin Obenza, Alto
Markdavin Obenza is a singer and vocal coach. He recently received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington School of Music and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Music Theory at UW. His choral training began at age 10 with the Northwest Choirs and included performances with Seattle Symphony Orchestra and Seattle Opera. He has also trained with Peter Phillips and the Tallis Scholars at the Tallis Scholars Summer Schools in Oakham, England. He has taught music theory at the Northwest Choirs Summer Camp and coached University of Washington drama students in general vocal technique. Markdavin currently performs as a countertenor with the Tudor Choir and the Compline Choir of St. Mark's Cathedral, Seattle, and is section leader at Eastshore Unitarian Church.

Orrin Doyle, Tenor
Though Orrin Doyle is professionally employed in the telecommunications industry, he is a singer and a lover of music at heart. He started singing with the Northwest Boychoir when he was 10 years old. He has trained with Peter Phillips and the Tallis Scholars at the Tallis Scholars Summer Schools in Oakham, England. He performs regularly with the Tudor Choir and the Renaissance Singers, and is a section leader at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Queen Anne.

Willimark Obenza, Bass
Willimark Obenza has been singing with the Renaissance Singers since 2003. He began singing as a boy soprano with the Northwest Boychoir and the St. James Schola Cantorum and as a baritone with Vocalpoint Seattle. Willi is currently a junior at Roosevelt High School and planning on continuing his studies in chemistry while performing Renaissance polyphony.

Thomas Thompson, Bass
A longtime musician and a student of philosophy at the University of Washington, Thomas Thompson has sung for local organizations such as the Tudor Choir, the Compline Choir at St. Mark's and the Seattle Symphony, as well as performing on early period instruments with the group Jouissance and for the Portland and Puget Sound Revels.
